The congregants of Beth El Ner Tamid  welcome you to our website. We are a vibrant egalitarian conservative synagogue located in Southeast Wisconsin, 15 minutes north of Milwaukee and less than 2 hours from Chicago. We have so much to offer. A vibrant sisterhood, an active men's club, a dynamic Rabbi and a wonderful Cantor. We have a great school program for the kids and many programs for adults and families. Volunteers Needed For Brewers Game    Rodney Ugent is looking for volunteers who have been trained for the Brewers concession stand for our final game.  He needs three more volunteers for Sunday, September 7th, for the Brewers vs. San Diego game.  If you have been trained and have not volunteered yet this season, now is the time to help out as this is our final regular season game. If the Brewers make the playoffs we will have the opportunity to be part of the Playoffs-World Series.  Please contact Rodney Ugent at (414) 351-4714 to volunteer.

Monday, September 8th at 11:00 am – The Sisterhood Perspectives Program speaker will be Janine M. Bamberger, Manager of Nutrition Services and Wellness Programs at Aurora Health Care.  Janine will focus on eating healthy and cooking for one or two people.  The monthly luncheon and meeting will follow.

Sunday, September 14th from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm – The Beth El Ner Tamid Annual Picnic will take place rain or shine.  We will have a hotdog lunch, snowcones, popcorn and cotton candy.  There will be a Moonwalk and music.  It is free and open to all BENT members.  Please RSVP to the BENT office at (262) 242-6900. 

Tuesday, September 16th at 7:30 pm – BENT will host Professor Orit Nuttman-Schwartz who will discuss ‘Living and Working Under Stressful Reality.’  Come for an informal dialogue with Professor Nuttman-Schwartz whose expertise is working with people who are exposed to trauma on a daily basis.  For more information contact Naomi Berkowitz at (414) 403-9156.

Friday, September 19th - The TOT Shabbat Service will be at 6:30 pm with a tot style dinner for kids six years and under.  Kids In Shabbat Service (KISS) is at 7:30 pm.  KISS is a family friendly participatory service.  Please support our Religious School students.

Saturday, September 20 at 8:00 pm – Beth El Ner Tamid will have their S’lichot Service.


Mondays, at 11:00 am – There will be weekly Hebrew classes with Rabbi Berman.

Thursdays, at 11:00 am – There will be weekly Parsha classes with Rabbi Berman on ‘Prophets and Current Events’.

Yoga Classes are now at Beth El Ner Tamid with instructor Jan Halonen.  Yoga will help you reduce stress, increase flexibility, build internal body strength and enhance the immune system.  The cost is $11.00 per class.  The times are Monday at 9:30 am.  Call Bobbe Abrams at (414) 351-0447 for more information.

We have committed to operate a concession stand for 10 different dates during Brewers Games.  Volunteers are needed for one or more dates.  All volunteers must attend a one night training session at Miller Park.  If interested please contact Rodney Ugent at (414) 351-4714 or rddugent@aol.com to schedule your time and confirm training date.

The Social Action Committee needs volunteers to help prepare and deliver meals with the St. Vincent de Paul Center for people in need.  This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to participate in a “Social Action” program.  Those of you, who are willing to cook and/or serve, please contact Nancy Kellman at (262) 512-9119 or Barbara Simon at (414) 351-1010.  For all others please consider supporting this important initiative with a donation.  Please make your checks payable to BENT Synagogue Social Action Fund.

Sweeten Your Loved One’s Rosh Hashana – This Sisterhood fundraiser is a sweet deal.  Katelyn’s Honey of Burlington, KY will mail 8-ounce jars of natural honey to your relatives and friends for $10.00 per jar.  All the honey is harvested fresh; FDA inspected and certified Kosher by Rabbi Kalmanson from the Chabad Temple in Cincinnati, OH.  For more information call Marge Kulakow at (414) 540-6630.  Flyers are in the foyer and on BENT’s website.
